Sam

I am trying to start a new sculpt tonight in honor of a special friends great grandchild, so far it looks nothing like that pretty baby, hopefully I will win this battle and find the sweetness in the clay.

signs of spring

The weather is very warm here today it will be around 66 and is very sunny today, I have yellow daffodils bursting from the earth waiting for the bees of spring to start buzzing their blooms, Robins are hopping along the grass searching for insects and things to start their spring nests for their first brood of baby robins, a few years ago we found a baby robin newly hatched, his mom was gone and he was nearly dead on the ground, we brought him inside and fed him soggy dried cat food with a baby spoon and he lived and was with us a few months until we released him, My grandkids loved him and named him BeeBop, they used to dig for worms after he got older and feed him the live worms. Now everytime I see a Robin in the yard I think of BeeBop and the joy he brought into our lives as we watched him grow feathers and learn to fly here is a photo of BeeBop and my grandson

Slow Start

Here is sit still in my jammies, thinking of all I need to do before it starts raining, I hate driving in the rain. I have baby parts painted and waiting on a body and another one a tiny fae needing some arms and legs. I have to make myself do so housework and run to the store first then I will let that baby be borned, more photos later :)

Slideshow

Finally I got around to adding a slideshow of my past work, please check it out and feel free to leave comments , I enjoy looking at the babies I have made over time and I know they all have my distinct fingerprint as their creator, but to me they all also have their own unique personality. Is this just my perspective as the artist or can you see their personalities too.
I finally got started again on my body parts hopefully I will have more to show of my newest work soon
happy claying

too many body parts

I have sitting here 3 heads and 2 legs, these poor things are looking at me like finish me finish me :)
Maybe I can get things in order and back to my clay soon, I miss it, there is nothing like having one all completed and realizing that you created it. Even if its not the prettiest baby, its still pretty to me as its clay momma

Incomplete

I have many heads laying around my desk, waiting patiently for their arms and legs, One of them I was trying to do something different with, ball joints. This has me puzzled as I figure it all out in clay, how to make the joint, sturdy, hollow, and a good fit.
I may have to leave this for a while and bring the others to life , otherwise I am running in circles

My Art

I want to begin by showing some of my sculpts so that you can relate to what I love to create.
each one is unique and created without molds strictly from my hands and they each are precious in there own way, most of these have been adopted.
here is my one of my recent babies and one of my favorites she was created using a dear friends granddaughters portrait, here is Madi
I am still working on realism and to me she is the closest I have gotten so far, she is still with me I am having a hard time letting her go.
I just recently created my first baby monster and though this is a monster, she has the face that pulls at me making me smile, I still have her too at the moment. I have not given her a name yet, any ideas?
I am working on some more new things right now and hope to have more to share with you soon and also will be listing at least one of them at the newest doll auction site Morethan-Dolls.com
If you have not checked this site out, please do, its a new site that is composed of artists to sell their work and even though its still new there are already many artists there selling everything from sculpt, reborns, outfits, dolls, teddy bears, supplies, fairies and more categories added each day. This new site is also completely free to list your items on with no fees to list or for final sale, it gets no better than that.
If you want to see more of my work then please check out my website, you can see it on my contact page and any feedback is welcomed.
There are many wonderful artists that sculpt babies, dragons, fairies, and any thing else you can think of, I will have links to some of those for you to look at, please take the time to pop in and see them, it always makes me want to create all of these things when I see the work of other artists.
I will leave you today with one more photo this one of a beautiful flower, I love taking photos and what better place to share some of them. I hope you have enjoyed reading my blog and please check in often to see where my muse is taking me and share in any ideas I may have or other mediums I may try and please do comment, I love to hear the comments on my work or my ramblings.
