I need a name

I have been fiddling with this little girl for a while now, she is a long way from perfect but she is at the point that she makes me smile so I am calling her finished and will start a new one and try and do better on it. I found an old wig I had made for a different doll and it looks cute on her I think, kind of like a wild child LOL, anyway I am wanting name suggestions for her.

cold outside makes for good day to clay

The temps are frigid way down here in the southeastern United States, with the icy winds and cold hard ground its hard to get outside and do the Christmas shopping that most of us have to do this time of year. I am almost done with mine, just a few more gifts to buy and a few more to wrap up.
Now I have decided its a great time to start a new clay project, another baby.
I recently participated in an ornament swap with friends from one of my clay groups and it was great fun just to let our imaginations run wild and make something for our partners. That is another great thing about being involved in Polymer clay, not only do you have fun making things and letting your muse have rein to bring them to be. You also meet some of the greatest people that also share a love of art and a love of polymer clay as a medium.
Stay warm and stay tuned for pictures of the baby hopefully in a few days

baby Drake

Hi I am going to stick a photo of my latest baby in here with the travel photos I have been sharing with you all. I think this one is a boy and the photos were not taken in very good light , I had to take them using a light since it was late and there was no natural light left handy, Anyway you can get an idea of how he looks, I still need to do some things to him like make him some booties and get more daylight photos to better show his coloring. He is cute but I still find myself picking out flaws in him. I guess this is the artist in us that makes us strive for improvement with each piece we create. Thanks for looking

Arizona is a pretty place

Sedona, is a town in Arizona where there are homes running along the river as well as homes hanging high on the red cliffs, It is a pretty place, You can see some tall cactus growing just a little south of here around Phoenix, We drove through Sedona on our way and shot a few photos of the magnificent red mountains in Red Rock Canyons, I will post other photos from our trip so check back

Big Bend Park South Texas

We drove down I-10 to Southern Texas at the beginning of our trip, this park is right along the Texas / Mexico border, only the Rio Grande River divides the 2, these photos were taken in this park. It is pretty, I was surprised at how small the Rio Grande was. We saw horses roaming free along the Mexican side, the river was pretty, it was all desert. Check back for more photos of other stops we made.

little sisters

It has been a long time since I have posted here, I have been busy reading books and sculpting when the mood strikes me. I recently finished 2 art dolls that I think turned out kind of cute and wanted to share them here. They are both on bendable cloth bodies and are easily posed. I was trying to create adult fairies and they both turned out younger so I was told they wanted to be sisters. I hope you enjoy them

First baby of 2010

I just finished this little girl, and she makes me smile. I don't know if the glow will wear off once I have gotten used to her and start to discover her flaws, but for now I think she turned out sweet.
Here she is, I still have to find what her name is and what I will do with her. I am thinking she will go to either Ebay or Etsy. I am kind of mad at Ebay at the moment. I read where they are going up on the final value fees to 9% in March, we need to call them Greedbay instead of Ebay. Etsy only charges 3.5% of the final value fee. They have less audience so its harder to sell there, but taking a stand against ebay sounds good to me. Stay tuned and I will post where she ends up at. Here she is my sweet little red headed girl.
